The I-T-S of confusing grammar renown
means two varied things, our teachers said.
With just its letters possession is shown.
It’s an apostrophe that means “it is” instead.
They say we learn by our mistakes. This lesson was a very memorable one for the Word Sleuth. In a high school English class, term papers were being returned and it was confusingly distressing for me to see so many red marks on the pages of my paper. Making 23 mistakes would be one thin...
